BOSTON (AP) - Sales of single-family homes jumped 27 percent in Massachusetts last month when compared with the same month in 2011, the best July in seven years.
The Warren Group, a Boston publisher of real estate data, said Wednesday nearly 5,000 single-family homes sold last month, up from just fewer than 4,000 last July.
The Massachusetts Association of Realtors reported a nearly 23 percent jump in sales of single-family homes, the 13th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases.
The organizations use slightly different methods in their calculations.
Median prices remained fairly stable. The Warren Group reported a less than 1 percent rise in median prices to $318,000, while the Realtors group reported a nearly 2 percent increase to $328,500.
Both groups reported a large increase in condominium sales.
