BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Charlie Baker's administration has tapped Brian Shortsleeve, a one-time political director for Mitt Romney, to serve in the newly-created position of chief administrator of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. In making the announcement yesterday, Baker called Shortsleeve a "proven leader" with a successful record of fixing and operating complex organizations of all sizes.

BOSTON (AP) - New England's tallest building is getting a name change, but it's not clear whether Bostonians will play along. The owners of the 60-story, 790-foot-tall John Hancock Tower in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood said yesterday that they can no longer use the name, because financial services company John Hancock is no longer a tenant. The building's owner, Boston Properties, has renamed it "200 Clarendon" after its street address.

BOSTON (AP) - The special agent in charge of the Boston division of the FBI is retiring after two years in the job. Vincent Lisi has had a 26-year career with the FBI. The agency said Thursday that Lisi will retire from government service at the end of August. Lisi has headed the Boston division since July 2013. He oversaw the counterterrorism investigations stemming from the Boston Marathon bombings, the investigation of Massachusetts state probation officials and the investigation of the former speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives.

NEW YORK (AP) - Tom Brady's lawsuit against the NFL in which he wants his four-game suspension overturned will be heard in New York instead of Minnesota. Brady and the players' union filed their suit Wednesday in Minnesota. But the NFL already had filed papers Tuesday in New York, moments after announcing that Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld the suspension for Brady's involvement in the use of underinflated footballs in the AFC championship game.
