MANSFIELD, Mass. (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 13-year-old boy riding his bike in Mansfield was hit and killed by a school bus Wednesday. Around 2 p.m., police responded to East Street near South Main after they say a teen was riding his bike home from school and was hit by a school bus. Investigators think he may have fallen off his bike just before he was hit.
"I couldn't see the face. All I saw was blood. I mean my heart just goes out to the family," a neighbor said.

The 30 or so kids had to get off the bus and wait for another one. The children on board were taken to the Qualter's Middle School and Mansfield High School where grief counselors were made available to await their parents arrival, police said.Rita Muldoon, 11, knew the boy and said he went to her school.
"He was a seventh grader at my school. My bus was the one that ran over him over," she said.
Other students who knew the boy said he loved the Patriots and enjoyed riding his bike to and from school.
Police say the hardest part of this investigation is that there were no witnesses to see if the boy really fell or what happened prior to the crash. The boy was less than half a mile away from his house when the crash occurred.
Grief counselors will be made available to students at the middle school on Thursday as this community attempts to cope with the tragic loss of the teen.
