(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - If you work in the news business long enough, you'll have a lot of contact with police on stories. But very rarely does a journalist do such amazing work that police stop to honor them. Thursday, one of our own, Bob Ward, received that great privilege.

The Massachusetts State Police presented Bobby with a Superintendent's Commendation for his relentless crime reporting.

The entire command staff was in attendance to thank Bob for giving police the voice they need to help solve cases. They've never done this for a reporter before.

Bob has been in the business for decades and he simply is exceptional at what he does. I was there for his commendation Thursday and we want to say congratulations, we couldn't be more proud of you.
