BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - Boston police continue to investigate the slaying of a convenience store clerk who was shot during an apparent robbery attempt.
Police say the victim was shot at about 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Tedeschi Food Shops store in the city's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
The store chain's owner released a statement identifying the victim as 39 year-old Surendra Dangoi of Somerville. President and CEO Peter Tedeschi said he was "deeply saddened" by the death and called it a "senseless act of violence."
Police think two suspects were involved and have surveillance video of man entering the store, and say a driver in white, four-door sedan helped him make his getaway.
The car is possibly a Chrysler or a Dodge and was last seen traveling on Centre Street toward the Jamaica Way.
