LOWELL - A man has been arraigned on a charge of murder in connection with the stabbing death of an employee at the Lowell Transitional Living Center.
Pericles Clergeau, 19, of Lowell, was arraigned today in Lowell District Court on the charge of murder. He plead not guilty. Clergeau was ordered held without bail. His next court date is March 8 for a pretrial conference.
According to authorities, at about 10:03 Saturday morning, Lowell police received reports of a stabbing at the Lowell Transitional Living Center at 189 Middlesex St. Upon arrival, officers found the injured victim, Jose Roldan, 34, of Lowell, and found Clergeau, a resident of the shelter, still armed with a knife.
Clergeau was subdued and arrested at the scene. The victim was airlifted to Brigham & Woman's Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
