QUINCY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police in Quincy say they are not sure if they are searching for a victim or a suspect following a violent home invasion.

A man was to taken to Boston Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. He was reportedly shot in the head when two armed suspects broke into a Sumner Street home overnight. Police say the man who was shot just after midnight Friday is in his early 20s and is the brother of the woman who owns the condo. She does not live there.

Police say one of the other people staying at that home is now missing. It is not known if the missing man is a suspect or a kidnapping victim.

The two suspects were seen leaving in a black Ford Explorer. Police were talking to a second man who left with the two men believed responsible for the home invasion and shooting.

Investigators did not immediately provide a motive, but say it does not appear to be a random act and it does not appear the suspects had to force their way in.
