Police investigate sexual assault

LOWELL (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police in Lowell received a report yesterday afternoon about a 43-year-old woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted in a Lowell cemetery.

The incident allegedly happened at around 4:20 p.m. Further details about the attack have not been released.

The suspect is a white man in his mid 40s, about 6'1" and weighs about 240 pounds. Police say he has short dark hair, graying on the sides, a trimmed moustache and beard. He was wearing a light blue shirt, blue jeans and grey New Balance sneakers.

Police say the suspect may have visible scratch marks to his cheeks or neck area.

Police are also searching for a newer model white 4-door Ford pickup truck with a chrome step under the doors, grey leather interior, and a black dashboard.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Lowell Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division.
