Middleborough man gets 18 months on porn charges

BOSTON - A former Cub Scout volunteer from Middleborough has been sentenced to 18 months in prison on child pornography charges.
Christopher T. Roy, who faced up to 10 years in federal prison, was also sentenced Thursday in federal court in Boston to five years of probation.
The 38-year-old Roy pleaded guilty in March
Roy was arrested in June 2010, at his home in Middleboro after a criminal complaint was filed against him by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Texas. Agents said they found several child pornography videos on his laptop during baggage screening at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport when he was returning from a business trip to Mexico.
He has since been banned from working with the Cub Scouts.
His lawyer says he will report to prison next month.
