BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Authorities say they have arrested two Brockton men suspected of killing a witness in another homicide case.
The Plymouth district attorney's office says 25-year-old Michael Goncalves and 28-year-old Joao Fernandes were arrested yesterday and charged in connection with the February killing of Manuel Rodrigues.
Rodrigues was a cooperating witness in the case against Michael Barros, who is accused of shooting Moises Vicente in January.
Goncalves and Fernandes were both ordered held without bail after not guilty pleas were entered on their behalf to charges including murder. Two other men were also arrested on lesser charges.
Rodrigues was shot several time while standing in the driveway of his girlfriend's home. District Attorney Timothy Cruz says Rodrigues had been offered help in relocating, but refused.
This information was supplied by law enforcement. All persons are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
