BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police are looking for the gunman who fired shots at a nurse through her front door, wounding her, before he fled from the scene.
The woman's 16-year-old daughter made a frantic call to 911 after watching her mother get shot in the doorway of their home Monday night. The victim, Mulielle Compere, went to the door after hearing someone banging hard.
The gunman asked for a Manny and when Compere told him Manny doesn't live there, he shot her.
The shooting happened on Silver Road around 10 p.m. and police believe it was likely a case of mistaken identity.
FOX 25 talked to the victim's sister, Myriam Itilus, and her cousin, Pierre Casimir. They say that this is very scary and don't understand how this happened.
Itilus told FOX 25 the bullet went from her sister's lung to her intestine and then through her bladder. She is is expected to survive.
Police are asking for the public's help tracking down a silver or gray four-door sedan that was spotted leaving the scene. The vehicle was spotted at the site of another shooting just a half-hour later.
