EXETER, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Two paintings intended to raise money for cancer patients were stolen from the Exeter Hospital earlier this week.
Hospital officials say the two paintings were snatched from a charity art wall on Valentine's Day between 8 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. The wall is dedicated to the 'Beyond the Rainbow' Fund, a non profit that raises money for cancer patients.
This month's local artist is Sandy McDermott. The charity is personal for her. Cancer has affected her family - three aunts, a sister and her mother who just lost her battle two months ago.
The combined price of the paintings is more than $300 and 20 percent of that would have gone to the organization.
Surveillance video did not capture the crime. Ryan Lawrence with Exeter Hospital says because the paintings were small, they may have been put in a bag or under a coat. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the paintings is urged to contact Exeter Police at 603-772-1212.
