DORCHESTER (FOX25, myfoxboston) - Police say two 44-year-old Boston women accused of robbing a bank and fleeing in an SUV have been arrested on charges of armed robbery.
Police spokesman Officer Eddy Chrispin says investigators were trying to determine whether Lisa Sims and Awa Ly, both of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, were tied to a recent rash of robberies.
Police say a suspect walked into a bank Tuesday and demanded money after warning that a gun was in a car parked outside. Witnesses saw a woman throw away an activated dye pack and described to police the fleeing vehicle ( PHOTO TO THE LEFT.)
An officer reported seeing the SUV and colleagues in an unmarked car stopped it and recovered the note demanding money and clothing used during the robbery.
The suspects will be arraigned at Brighton District Court on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear they have legal representation.
