BOSTON - The cost of a gallon of gasoline in Massachusetts has fallen by another four cents, the third consecutive week of lower prices.

The AAA Southern New England reported Monday that self-serve, regular unleaded dropped to an average of $2.56 per gallon, down eight cents in the last three weeks, but still a penny above the national average. Self-serve unleaded is 99 cents lower than at the same time last year.

AAA found gas as low as $2.35 and as high as $2.89 per gallon.
