Not The Best
The place is decorated like an episode of Mami Vice circa 1980's. Lots of hidden expenses. I.E Valet parking is $40/night!!!! Rooms were grungy and small. Honesty, I'm amazed at all the positive feedback. Either people are lowering their standards or someone's self-posting.

Onyx
The Onyx is in a great location. It is in close proximity to the TD Banknorth Garden and the North End, with all its fine dining choices. Our room was a deluxe, a little on the small side, but very clean and was decorated in a funky contemporary style. The staff were professional and friendly.

Treated like royalty!
I stayed at the Onyx Hotel for 3 nights with my BF. Every single staff member we came in contact with went above and beyond with the warmth, service, and hospitality. It was truly impressive. They have a nice wine and cheese reception every evening, the rooms are very nice (a little on the small side) with super comfortable beds, large flat screen tv. One small complaint is that breakfast is said to be served until 11:30 on sundays, we came doen at about 11:10 and they said we were too late, they stopped serving! No big deal though. Plus, the location was great, walking distance to everything. Overall it was a fabulous experience, highly recommended.

Just returned from a three day mini-vacation to Boston! I
Just returned from a three day mini-vacation to Boston! I can't say enough about how the Onyx Hotel in Boston is definitely the place to stay! It's close to everything! We saw Genesis @ the TD Banknorth Gardens and it was literally in the backyard! PERFECT!!! It's also close to the 'T' and Quincy Market/Hard Rock Cafe. I absolutely LOVED the time in Boston. The Onyx Hotel staff was outstanding and extremely detailed with their responses to my inquiries and concerns. The Ruby Rooms is an awesome place to sip wine & enjoy the contemporary atmosphere! It's very serene and enjoyable for all ages! I plan to return again in the near future and stay @ The Onyx Hotel.

To Die For!!! Don't hesitate on booking!
To Die For!!! Don't hesitate on booking!: I can't even tell you how great this hotel is! When we checked in, the gentleman checking us in (Michael) found out it was our honeymoon and quickly grabbed us a bottle of wine to take up with us to our room. We had booked a penthouse suite ($250 a night!) on the 11th floor. As soon as we got to the room there was a knock at the door. It was Michael, the same person that had checked us in, and he had noticed that we forgot to book the "Parlor" room attachment to our room, and let us know that The Onyx would be giving us this room for free for the next three nights of our stay! In total, the room was probably 800 sq. ft. with two bathrooms, two TV's, surround sound system, and this awesome checkered carpet. Things only got better when we went to the Ruby Lounge and chatted with our favorite bartender (Steve) that gave us our drinks for free and congratulated us on our honey moon. I can not recommend this hotel enough! If all Kimpton hotels are as good as the Onyx, they have definetly made a customer for life out of me!

Thanks again to Michael and Steve for the incredible service and royal treatment! You guys rock!
