AVOID THIS MEINEKE......
My mother brought her car into service for an oil change in September and while there the mechanic heard a vibration sound in her car and told her that it was one of her cyclinders that was not working in her engine. He suggested that he could send out the cyclinder head for repair and that she would have her car within 2-3 days. My mother brought her car fin or service in October 3, 2006 and now to to this date of December 6, 2006 the car has yet been repaired.
Meineke sent the head for repair to their vendor. When they received the "repaired" part back, the mechanic noticed that the head was broken from another area which was not broken before. The part did not work. They then contacted their vendor who is not taking responsibility for this new broken piece. Meineke then said that they would search for a replacement part. A week later (week 2) they received a new head which turned out to be the wrong fit (too small); and then another week later(week 3) they received another replacement that again was not the right fit. So again the search was on and it is still on.
Today is 2 months and 3 days later and the car is still on their premises unable to run because they are not capable nor have the knowledge of repairing cars or not even having the ability to get this issue resolved. They even suggested to my mother that if she can't wait any longer that she has the option to remove her car and take it to another mechanic; so did Meineke's home office. Yes, give the problem to someone else... go figure.
We have contacted other mechanics who specialize with engine and they all expressed that they would had never recommended to replace a cyclinder head her a car (1995 Honda Accord) due to her miles (140K) because an engine can burn out after this replacement. This was NEVER expressed by Meineke.
Please NEVER bring your car here! We are now getting in touch with the Attorney's General Office and our attorney!
