How could they go so wrong?
How could they go so wrong with me when all these other review are so positive? We called the restaurant 3 days in advance to ask about vegetarian options, at a prixe fixed dinner. What came as my entree was a small roasted purple onion on arugula garnish, while everyone else had duck. Did they not have any other vegetables in the kitchen? An onion!! Went home with a bad headache from lack of food, but its good story telling.

OUTSTANDING
my husband and I have been there for brunch and it was great, so we thought we'd try it for dinner. We took some old friends visiting Boston and had a very memorable meal. The service was amazing and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this pleasant little gem of a resturant to anyone who lives here now or anyone visiting us. Good job!

Excellent food
We went for Valentine's Day. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. A little rushed, but it was Valentine's Day, so it was perhaps to be expected. The food was excellent - roasted pear salad, escarole, and especially the chocolate tasting menu for dessert were all wonderful. The foie gras, perhaps a little less so. Atmosphere is not too upscale (but still classy). And the value was excellent.

A Classic and A Great Value!
I have dined at BHB several times and have found the food to be excellent each time. A classic French bistro, one needs to adjust their expectations before dining but not lower them. Portions are smaller than most are used to but this is bistro fare - the food is elegantly prepared, flavorful and just enough to satisfy without stuffing. The space is small and a bit noisy during the dinner rush but that is what contributes to the restaurants bustling energy and charm. The wine list is diverse, well matched to the food and provides more by-the-glass options than most places. Service is attentive and respectful. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the quality of the overall experience and the neighborhood. BHB make for a great start to an evening on the town or a relaxing brunch on a lazy Sunday. Try it once and youll become a regular!

new favourite restaurant
We had a great experience -- first time there. Beautiful room. Not pretentious. Felt like a real French bistro. Nice noise and energy. Interesting and REASONABLE wine list. My wife loved the bouillabaise. Steak Frites was the best I've had in Boston. Dessert cart was excellent, even if it is noisy as it moves down the room. Try the chocolate mousse cake. Server was very friendly. Manager has a good sense of humour. We'll be back with friends.
