PHILADELPHIA (AP) - David Wright hit a long home run in his first major league at-bat in 133 days.

Wright returned to the New York Mets' lineup Monday night after missing more than four months with spinal stenosis. He drove a 1-1 pitch from Adam Morgan into the second deck in left field leading off the second inning.

The 32-year-old Wright got a standing ovation from Mets fans at Citizens Bank Park when he ran onto the field, a louder ovation when he came to the plate and more cheers when he connected. He singled his second time up before taking a called third strike with two on in the fifth.

Left-hander Dario Alvarez was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for the Mets' captain on the roster.

A seven-time All-Star, Wright last played on April 14. He was 9 for 28 (.321) without an extra-base hit in eight rehab games. The Mets climbed to the top of the NL East standings without him and entered the night with a five-game lead over Washington.
