(
MyFoxBoston.com) -- Target is settling a class action lawsuit following a massive data breach. Victims of the 2013 breach are eligible for thousands of dollars each.
Target is setting up a $10 million fund for victims. People will be eligible for up to $10,000 each, but will have to prove actual harm done.
There must be proof of unauthorized purchases on credit or debit cards and costs related to replacing social security numbers, and other identification.
Target is also agreeing to follow certain security practices dictated by the settlement.
At least 40 million people's credit card information was compromised just before Christmas in 2013. The settlement goes before a judge in Minnesota on Thursday.
