REVERE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Revere teen has been arrested after failing to show up for his arraignment on a slew of charges including impersonating a police officer.
According to the Daily Item, 18-year-old Sandro D. Anaya is facing charges that include impersonating a police officer, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, violation of a city knife ordinance, and violation of a learner's permit.
Police claim Anaya was arrested just after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning after police witnessed the teen make an illegal turn in a stolen Ford 2002 pickup truck. When officers pulled Anaya over, they reportedly found handcuffs, a 6 mm black BB gun, an expandable baton, and a gold police badge hanging from a chain around his neck.
Officials tell the Daily Item that Anaya made statements to investigators about patrolling the streets "looking for the real criminals." They say Anaya has had run-ins with Revere police in the past for reportedly impersonating an officer.
Anaya posted $1,000 cash bail after his arrest, but failed to appear at his arraignment on Monday. Anaya was taken into custody again on Thursday after a warrant for his arrest was issued.
