SUMMARY:  WFXT FOX 25 is searching for part-time photographers who will work with reporters and gather content for station newscasts.  The successful candidates will excel at storytelling through outstanding visuals and audio.  Photographers will work with reporters to provide active live coverage from the field.  The successful candidates will also have strong editing skills.  Photographers need to have an understanding of news coverage on all platforms and make video/audio a priority for the station's digital and social media sites.   Candidates should excel in breaking news coverage and working under tight deadlines.  The successful candidate will also operate live trucks, satellite trucks and ftp solutions on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·       Shoots video and audio for station newscasts.

·       Works with reporters to turn compelling, important stories and create active liveshots.

·       Operating microwave, satellite trucks and streaming technology as well as FTP solutions on a daily basis.

·       Must have working knowledge of editorial standards and strong news judgment..

·       Must have strong editing skills.

·       Makes getting video and audio to our digital and social media sites a priority every day,

·       Working knowledge of live and satellite trucks is essential.

·       Must be physically able to lift and carry necessary equipment (up to 75 pounds) and maintain the agility to perform work assignments.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred.   A minimum of 3 years professional experience as a Photographer is required. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
