The children in the Hopkins family learn from an early age that they are direct descendants of the largest family on the Mayflower. At a later age they learn...that was just the tipple talking. In a family where pilgrim trivia is abundant, where Cape Cod is considered holy ground, and where children share names with the Mayflower passenger list, life in the Commonwealth is a foregone conclusion.
Elizabeth Hopkins is a reporter and anchor with the FOX25 news. Over almost a decade, she's covered New England extensively...from the Newtown shootings, to the Boston Marathon bombings, to the daily challenges and troubles that face those who live here. But it's not all bad news. Elizabeth is delighted and intrigued by the stories that make up our everyday lives. She has anchored morning news, and hosted a lifestyle segment titled for her nickname called, "Lilly On The Loose." She concedes that this was simply an endeavor to allow her to see and do anything with which she was enamored.
Before coming to FOX25, Elizabeth worked at WPRI in Providence, R.I. anchoring the morning and noon shows. There, she was also co-host of the lifestyle and entertainment program "The Rhode Show." Prior to her New England tenure she spent several years anchoring and reporting daily at WKOW in Madison, Wis. There, she garnered an Emmy nod for a piece on "bug chasing," a term which refers to those seeking HIV infection. Elizabeth anchored the evening news at KNBN in Rapid City, S.D. after beginning her career at KAUN in Sioux Falls. She is from New York, where much of her friends and family still live. She misses them terribly.
