CANTON, Mass. —

What started as an investigation into a teenage house party has led police to file sexual assault charges against a 52-year-old man.

Canton police first started investigating an underage drinking party at a vacant home on New Year’s Eve. Five kids between the ages of 14 and 16 were charged after police said they broke into the house and consumed alcohol. Police said 52 year-old Mark Francis, who lives about a block away, is the one who supplied the alcohol to the teens, who he knows.

While investigating the party and the source of the alcohol, police said they uncovered allegations of sexual assault involving Francis from years back.

Canton police say they cannot elaborate on the charges because of the nature of the crime. FOX25’s Robert Goulston pulled the criminal complaint that shows Francis was arrested on Feb. 16

He’s facing three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. The alleged sexual assaults happened on June 1 and July 1 of 2010. The next was on July 1, 2011.

A woman at the home where police say Francis lives would not answer any questions as she pulled away.

FOX25 learned Francis does know the victim or victims in the alleged 2010 and 2011 sexual assaults, but it isn’t clear how.

An attorney assigned to the case told FOX25 Thursday she is no longer representing Francis. He's scheduled to be in Stoughton District Court on March 25.
