Teen arrested after shooting that killed 1, injured 7

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder after a 19-year-old was shot in Chelsea Sunday morning.
Police say the 16-year-old will be tried as an adult under Massachusetts law, but his name is not being released at this time.

"I want the community to know that Chelsea Police approached this case with urgency and professionalism from the moment it was called in," Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes said. "We cannot and we will not tolerate this level of gun violence, especially when it leaves our young people dead and injured."
The shooting happened around 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the area of 120 Washington Ave. Police found 19-year-old Pablo Villeda gravely injured when they arrived, he would later die from his injuries. Seven other victims between 15 and 22 years old were also injured.
Police believe the victims had been at a part in a vacant apartment when the shots were fired.
