Search continues for woman kidnapped from care facility
Updated:
The search for a kidnapped 62-year-old woman continues Wednesday, and nurses fear she might be in medical crisis.
Beth Birnbaum was reported missing around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from her care facility in Newton. Police say she cannot sign herself out of Care One Health Center and she was last seen with 55-year-old David Collignon from Florida, who also doesn't have permission to sign her out.

David Collignon is described as Birnbaum's boyfriend from many years ago, according to court records. One of her legal guardians told police that they hadn't seen each in more than 10 years, but they believe Collignon has an agenda. Care One said that Collignon and his brother Ross Collignon have been highly intrusive in Birnbaum's care. Court records said the brothers weren't allowing staff to care for her, they tape recorded conversations and convinced Birnbaum to refuse her medication.
Birnbaum suffered a debilitating stroke in January and is not competent to make decisions, according to her family.
"I don't think she wanted to leave. She didn't state that to me," said a Care One resident who didn't want to be identified.
Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker stressed Wednesday that Birnbaum's situation is "dire" without proper medical attention.
FOX25 went to the apartment of Ross Collignon, who is also listed as a suspect in the police report. A young man answered the door and said they are no longer speaking to reporters.
Collignon is believed to be driving a grey Honda Fit with license plate 774 YR1. If you have seen the call, call police.
