WORCESTER, Mass. —

A Worcester State student's act of kindness is getting a lot of attention and praise on social media.

Kim Adams wrote on Facebook Thursday about something she overhead near the dining hall of Worcester State University.

"This morning I overheard three girls walking past a man laying down mulch in front of the dining hall saying they go to college so they "don't end up like that." He couldn't hear them because his headphones were in but that certainly doesn't make it ok," wrote Kim.

After hearing their words, Kim went and bought the landscapist a cup of coffee to say thanks.

"We all play an equally important role in our community and no one is better than anyone else...Stay humble everyone, especially since without people like him we wouldn't have the beautiful flowers on campus that I'm sure those three girls will be posting on Instagram in the upcoming weeks."

So far, Kim's Facebook post has gotten shared more than 1,000 times.
