40-foot cow removed from baseball field

An iconic piece of Turner Field ambience is on the move.

Or, should we say, the moo-ve.

On Saturday afternoon, cranes removed the 40-foot Chick-fil-A cow that has sat perched high above the Braves' stadium since 2008. The 18,000-pound bovine will be trucked to New Orleans for refurbishing before being installed at the team's new Cobb County home, SunTrust Park, next month. 

The cow's early installation at the new stadium -- which won't be open for baseball until next season -- is necessary "to coordinate with construction schedules while the large cranes needed for the installation can still be placed in what will become the outfield and seating bowl," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported earlier this week. 

The Braves tweeted a few short videos of Saturday's process.

First, the cow's cap was removed...
