Weymouth man faces murder charge

WEYMOUTH - A Weymouth man is headed to court to face allegations that he killed another man staying at his apartment.

Eric Carpenito is scheduled to be arraigned on a murder charge Wednesday in Quincy District Court in connection with the Tuesday death of David Lilly.

Authorities say the 50-year-old Lilly was taken to a hospital Tuesday night where he was pronounced dead. Police did not reveal a cause of death but say an autopsy is scheduled. They believe the death took place at Carpenito's home.

Authorities say Lilly had been staying at the 33-year-old Carpenito's apartment for a short time.

It was not immediately clear if he had hired a lawyer.
