SALEM, Mass. (AP) - The trial of a Marblehead man accused of raping his 7-year-old half-brother more than 25 years ago has started.

A Salem Superior Court jury began hearing testimony Tuesday in the trial of 42-year-old Richard Jones who's charged with one count of rape of a child with force stemming from alleged incidents authorities say occurred between November 1982 and May 1986.

Prosecutors allege the sexual assaults took place in the family's Peabody home when Jones was a teenager.

Prosecutors said in opening statements that Jones created a "house of horrors" for his brother.

The Daily Item of Lynn reports that Jones' lawyer admitted that Jones wasn't the "model older brother" but the charges don't make sense.

Testimony started with the alleged victim's mother describing witnessing an assault.
