FRAMINGHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A 24-year-old Framingham man was found guilty of armed assault and firearm charges stemming from an April 2009 robbery and subsequent shooting of a police officer.
Sahr Josiah was found guilty in Middlesex Superior Court on Friday. Josiah was convicted of armed robbery, armed assault with intent to murder, armed assault with intent to rob a person 60 or over, possession of firearm as an armed career criminal, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities say Josiah robbed a taxi driver on April 14, 2009. They say he fled when officers approached him after the robbery and then shot at three officers, seriously injuring one. The injured officer sustained wounds to the wrist and face.
Two others were charged for their alleged role in the crime. Kenneth Lacey, 23, of Mattapan is accused of calling the taxi company for Josiah. He is also accused of helping Josiah rob the driver.
Police say Emanuel Aguilar, 21, of Framingham is the owner of the phone that was used to call the taxi company. They further allege that Aguilar acted as a lookout during the robbery.
Both men are charged with armed robbery, armed assault with intent to rob a person 60 or over, and possession of a firearm. Lacey pleaded guilty to the charged in 2010 and was sentenced to one and half to three years in prison along with one year probation.
Aguilar’s case is still in the trial phase.
