(FOX25, myfoxboston) - The FBI is searching for a man dubbed the “PJ Bandit” who is now believed to be responsible for 15 bank robberies since October of last year.

New surveillance photos have been released from robberies in Gardner and Medford, showing the man wearing a black hat and black shirt.

The latest two robberies took place at the Workers Credit Union on Main Street in Gardner on January 21, and at the Middlesex Federal Savings on Riverside Avenue on January 27.

Police call the man the “PJ Bandit” because he sometimes wears a puffy jacket during the robberies.

He has also worn a baseball-style cap or dark knit cap, and sometimes a brown coat instead of the puffy jacket.

The man is described as a black male, mid 30s, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, medium build, with a thin goatee. He sometimes wears wire rim glasses.

He has displayed a black handgun in at least one robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at -617-742-5533.
