BRIDGTON, Maine (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston) - A community gathered to remember a Maine woman whose body was found in a New Hampshire pond. Prosecutors are calling her death suspicious.

Two men, friends of Krista Dittmeyer, the Maine woman found in a pond at a New Hampshire ski area, were questioned by police at Cranmore Tuesday night, the Conway Daily Sun reported.

One of the men, 28-year-old Richard Acker, is the brother of Kyle Acker, the father of Dittmeyer’s child. Kyle Acker is currently serving a prison sentence in Maine for selling drugs.

Richard Acker and Corey Poland, 25, of Portland, were stopped by Conway patrolman Richard Theberge at Cranmore at 11:52 p.m. on Tuesday.

Poland was arrested on a charge of willful concealment. No details regarding the charge or the arrest were available. Richard Acker was not arrested.

An autopsy is planned on the body of Dittmeyer after divers retrieved the 20-year-old from a pond on Wednesday. Her body was discovered about a quarter mile from where her car was found idling early Saturday in the parking lot of Cranmore Mountain ski area.

Dittmeye’s 14-month-old daughter was found asleep inside the vehicle, unharmed.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young says the case is being investigated as a "suspicious death."

Meanwhile, residents in Bridgton, Maine, are going ahead with a planned candlelight gathering planned for Thursday evening at an elementary school as a show of support for the family.

Dittmeyer moved to Portland shortly after her 2008 high school graduation and had been working as a waitress at a South Portland restaurant, said her older sister, Kayla Dittmeyer, who lives in Colorado.

Dittmeyer's mother, LaNell Shackley, had said she didn't believe anyone had "a vendetta against her."

"She's very lovable, very outgoing" the mother told NBC's "Today" show on Wednesday.

"I've asked all of her friends, and they tell me the same thing. They don't know who would want to do something to hurt her."

Shackley said she last spoke with her daughter on Friday night and was supposed to see her on Easter.

The ski area closed in early April, but the resort is popular among joggers and those walking dogs. It also has a fitness center that is open year-round, but it was not yet open for the day at the time police got the report about Dittmeyer's car.
