CAMBRIDGE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Middlesex District Attorney’s office announced the indictment of a Cambridge security guard on Tuesday after he was accused of attacking a woman outside the Cambridgeside Galleria.
Elisee Myrthil, 27, of Hyde Park, is accused of attacking a female he did not know, with the intent to rape her on Nov. 11, 2011.
Middlesex County District Attorney Gerry Leone claims that another person heard the woman’s screams and called the police, but by the time they arrived there was no one in sight. Investigators obtained surveillance footage which allegedly shows Myrthil walking toward the rear entrance of the mall before grabbing her and forcing her to lie on her back on a table. Police say he then sexually assaulted her.
Following the attack, the woman walked to a nearby hotel where she called police. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Myrthil works as a security guard in the buildings near the mall. He was arrested on Nov. 13 and held without bail before his Feb. 16 indictment.
The 27-year-old was charged with assault to rape and indecent assault and battery. He will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on March 7.
