MANCHESTER, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston) - Police have made an arrest in the ax attack at a Salisbury park.

Jay Larose, the homeless man police say is responsible, was taken into custody yesterday around 4:30 p.m. in Manchester, N.H.

Police say the 43-year-old repeatedly hit Stephen Noyes on a walking trail behind Lions Park.

Noyes was flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital with serious head wounds, but is expected to survive.

Investigators have yet to determine what sparked the attack, but did say Noyes and Larose knew each other.

Larose will be arraigned today in Manchester District Court as a Fugitive From Justice.
