BOSTON (myfoxboston) - He served his country on the battlefields of Iraq, only to die in a hail of bullets on a Dorchester street. Boston police are working hard to solve the brutal murder of James Jacobs, but they need your help.
Watch the report from FOX25's Bob Ward on the left.
Bob's Blog on James Jacobs:
The mother of James Jacobs wanted to make sure I got the story about her murdered son right. She wanted it so much that a couple of weeks ago, she drove to Fox 25 in Dedham through the threat of one of the season's last blizzards. She drove to Fox 25 all the way from her home in South Carolina.
Carolyn Jacobs is simply heartsick. Her only child, James, was murdered almost exactly two years ago on McLellan Street. The case is still under investigation; there have been no arrests.
I asked Carolyn to give us a couple of photos of James. She brought a huge envelope bursting with them. There's James as a baby, James as a middle schooler. James the proud high school grad. And James the US Army Sgt. who served with honor in Iraq. Carolyn also carried a gigantic copy of a degree from Wentworth that was awarded James posthumously. James was just months away from earning his degree when he was killed. And when Carolyn met me, she showed me the diploma on her way to post it at the telephone pole where her son fell. As you can see, Carolyn Jacobs is still very proud of her boy. Click here to read the rest .
