(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - You may soon have to pay taxes on your online purchases. The Retailers Association of Massachusetts will be on Beacon Hill today, pushing a bill that would require Massachusetts shoppers to pay state sales tax when shopping online.
It says taxes are necessary to keep local retailers competitive.
State retailers estimate Massachusetts will lose out on $335 million in revenue in 2012 because of the current rules. Similar laws have already gone into affect in several other states, including Rhode Island.
