(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - It's been a rough winter for all of us, but it's been especially tough for the MBTA. Delays and cancellations have left commuters frustrated and fatigued.

General Manager Rich Davey joined the FOX25 Morning News recently to talk about what is new with the T.

MBTA officials have plans to produce merchandise for the local transportation system and will be testing out different merchandise, from T-shirts to coffee mugs sporting the MBTA logo.

MBTA has decided to search for different ways to raise money rather than cutting services or drastically raising fares, considering they have already raised the price of parking meters.

Davey hopes to save money, an expected $22 million, by forcing employees to switch into the state’s Group Insurance Commission for health care coverage. He is also testing the idea of Red Line trains running with only one MBTA official, similar to the Orange Line.
