(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - State environmental officials say, as of last month, 35 Great White sharks were spotted off the coast of Cape Cod this summer. That's the kind of news likely to send any swimmer scrambling for shore.

So what idiot would actually go out in search of a close encounter with a shark? Well, me, apparently.

It's not a good idea to swim in the same place sharks are likely to feed. And without experienced professionals, you probably shouldn't search them out, either.

Sharks are wild animals, and can be unpredictable. But what many conservationists want people to know is that "shark" is not synonymous with "attack."
