(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - An American television reporter is recovering after being brutally attacked while on assignment in Egypt.

CBS News correspondent Lara Logan is in a U.S. hospital after being sexually assaulted and beaten while in Cairo.

Logan was reportedly separated from her crew when a violent mob of 200 people broke into a frenzy. The reporter was reportedly rescued by a group of Egyptian women and military officials.

The attack is one of hundreds suffered by reporters covering the crisis in Egypt.
