BOSTON - Two Bay State senators are looking to create some preferred public parking for eco-friendly vehicles.
The Boston Herald reports senators Jack Hart, of South Boston, and Sonia Chang-Diaz, of Jamaica Plain, want to restrict certain areas of parking to cars identified as low-emission or zero emission vehicles.
They are recommending that any high emission vehicles parking in those spots would be subject to towing and fines up to $50.
A hearing on the bill is expected to be taken up this morning.
