(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Senator Scott Brown's stunning revelations of sexual abuse by a camp counselor and being physically beaten by his stepfather has opened a variety of discussions on the subject of abuse, including the political impact.

Sen. Brown revealed the bombshell in his new book, "Against All Odds." He says a camp counselor sexually abused him when he was just 10 years old and then threatened to kill him if he told anyone.

In an interview with "60 Minutes", Brown says he never talked about it before and that his mother and his wife are just now finding out. Some question the timing of this admission, while others call him courageous.

Sen. Brown also details physical abuse at the hands of his stepfather. The book will be available on Monday.

Michael Kryzanek from Bridgewater State University recently joined the FOX 25 Morning News to talk more about the fallout in that arena.
