Under the supervision of the Creative Director, develop design recommendations for all Putnam literature and publications. Prepare design solutions for projects; supervise Mac Artists' work; review and approve printers proofs, outside photography and illustration; meet with clients at project inception to develop goals/concepts; apply knowledge of typography, design, electronic pre-press, print production and publishing hardware/software. Qualifications include: undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, 7 years design experience, demonstrated proficiency in Quark Express, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop and various scanning software, demonstrated creative ability supported by portfolio.
