DescriptionSr. Designer/Art Director
* Do you have a passion for fashion? And can execute that in an effective and strategic way? Well the TJX Companies wants to talk to you! Currently our T.J. Maxx team is in search of a Sr. Designer/Art Director to join our tight-knit, fast-paced internal ad agency. It’s a great position for a seasoned individual willing to work with the marketing team in all aspects of the retail creative design – including photo shoots, print, direct mail and more.Overview:
* The Sr. Designer/Art Director is responsible for translating innovative concepts into finished design for print, direct mail, interactive, and collateral material. Under the supervision of the Creative Directors and Associate Creative Director, the Sr. Designer/Art Director works as part of an in-house marketing team to achieve the T.J. Maxx brand objectives through effective message strategies. Using proven talent and consistent conceptual thinking, the Designer/Art Director must communicate the T.J. Maxx brand strengths in a uniquely fresh, memorable, and persuasive way.Responsibilities:
* Create designs in a wide variety of style and media (print, direct mail, newspaper, signage, etc.)
* Create designs that are on strategy and reflect the brand’s personality
* Aligns the design to budgets and time constraints
* Attends/Oversees photo shoots when needed
* Work with copywriters, designers, project managers, and others within the Marketing dept. to determine the brand’s needs, selling concepts, and strategies.
* Help to develop and guide creative ideas based on input from project managers, in-house creative team, and personal research.
* Under the direction of, and with approval from, the Creative Director and Associate Creative Director, monitor all materials through all stages ofpre-production and production.
* Complete all assigned work on time and regularly report the status of projects to the Creative Director and Associate Creative Director.
* Efficiently manage the time and workloadSpecifications:
* Executes designs in a variety of styles and maintains consistently high standards of work that will enhance the T.J. Maxx brand.
* Understands what a big idea is and delivers them consistently.
* Works productively and harmoniously as a teammate with copywriters, other designers, project managers and production team, who share responsibility on a given project.
* Thinks and articulates both verbally and visually when working with/without copywriters or other designers.Required Skills and Experience:
* 5-7 years of related work experience, Bachelor's degree and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
* Proven talent and a strong design sense (several well produced, big idea campaigns)
* Possess a solid understanding of photography, illustration, print process and typography
* Ability to juggle multiple projects
* Proven ability as a problem solver and take the initiative to solve issues
* Proven ability to work in a variety of medias with a heavy concentration in print.combination of education and experience.
* Proven ability to effectively present ideas to team, clients, and/or senior creative personnel.
* Intelligent thinking, strong organizational skills, and accuracy.
