The Marketing Manager - New England will maintain overall responsibility for marketing efforts in the New England market. This manager will work closely with and as a contributing member of the Market Leadership Team to develop and execute marketing plans that support business objectives and drive market growth. To fulfill this role, the Marketing Manager will:
* Work in a consulting capacity with market leadership to develop marketing strategies and implement annual marketing plans that support the market business and sales priorities and are aligned with regional and line of business strategies
* Work closely with US Marketing Leader, market and line of business leadership to lead the management of all facets of Mercer's marketing activities (i.e., seminars, client town halls, client communications, etc.) within assigned markets. By working with marketing regional and global leadership, ensures activities are aligned to pre-established business objectives and strategic company goals
* Use market intelligence data, market share analysis and client insights to track position in market, identify opportunities and to develop plans that capitalize on those opportunities.
* Supervise one direct report as well as manage cross-functional teams. Has full authority for the following direct report management responsibilities: assigning, directing and evaluating work; hiring, disciplining and firing employees; conducting performance evaluations, progressive counseling and career development discussions; approving salary and bonus actions; ensuring appropriate orientation and on-going education/training
* Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives by analyzing ROI, conducting surveys and soliciting client feedback
* Manage assigned marketing budget by ensuring that expenses are in line with pre-established budgets.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
* 7-10 years of marketing experience; preferably with a professional services firm
* Impactful communication style with high energy
* Creative with respect to identifying opportunities and developing marketing solutions
* Sales orientation to support critical link with client-facing and sales professionals
* Good project management skills
* Proven leadership skills to help form and direct regional/local marketing teams/efforts
* Proven ability to influence and serve as strategic thinker to senior management
