(NewsCore) - LOS ANGELES -- Ricky Gervais, creator and star of the original UK version of "The Office," and former "Arrested Development" star Will Arnett will make guest appearances on the final episode of the seventh season of the US "Office," Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday.

It was not known what roles Gervais and Arnett would play in the hour-long season finale, which is still being written. Gervais played his original "Office" boss, David Brent, in a January cameo appearance.

Other unnamed guest stars will also reportedly be part of the season finale.

Outgoing star Steve Carell, who will not return for the show's eighth season, taped his final episode -- set to air with four more episodes left in the season -- on March 4.

It is still not known who will replace Carell as boss at the Scranton, Pa., branch of fictional paper company Dunder-Mifflin. Arnett, brooding actor Harvey Keitel and "Eastbound and Down" star Danny McBride have been rumored as replacements, and the possibility exists that an existing character could be promoted to boss.

The season seven finale of "The Office" is scheduled to air May 19 on NBC.
