FOX25, myfoxboston - She hasn’t had much face time this season so far, but 20-year-old Cape Cod native Siobhan Magnus has earned her spot in the Top 24 in Season 9 of American Idol.

Magnus has been singing since age nine with a solo in the 4th grade chorus’s rendition of “The Sun will Come Out Tomorrow,” from Annie. She admits though that she has had no formal training.

Her main reason for trying out for American Idol was her love for singing although she admits she needed some motivation from family and friends. Overall she figured she had “nothing to lose,” by auditioning.

Magnus says she has a love of horror movies and is an apprentice in a glassblowing shop. She also considers herself a “babysitter extraordinare” because of all of the little cousins and sisters she’s had to look after. She is also a singer in a band called Lunar Valve.

She says her main musical influence is Courtney Love and the Hole.

We haven’t seen much of her yet, but only on American Idol can you see if this girl’s got what it takes to make it in Hollywood. Watch only on FOX.
